About
Hi, my name is Maya, and I’m glad you found my site. Maya’s Place is a space on the Internet to come home to, to share thoughts and experiences, and to just hang out with good friends.
I am in my mid-thirties and single. Now, that’s the first problem, no, not my age, that’s fine, but being single is a state I just happen to be in, as in “just haven’t found the right one yet”, if you know what I mean. I know you do, especially if you’re in that same state that I call “involuntarily single”. The good thing about being single is that it provides an abundance of things to talk and write about.
So, how far did I get? Mid-thirties, single, did I mention female? Well, I guess the name Maya did. What else? Let’s see, I am 5’9″ (175 cm) tall and I have brunette hair and brown eyes. I have a positive attitude, maybe not every single day, but on very many days of the year.
I love to travel, I read a lot, I run and go to the gym, I love music, and I am a stunning singer–when I’m alone in my car. I also love art. I love to paint, or, as I call it, “going crazy with color”, which describes way better what I actually do. (By the way, I did notice that I write “love” a lot, but I guess that is part of me too. I have a big heart.)
I have managed to talk with a good friend on the phone for several hours. Not only once. With a friend who used to live only 15 minutes away from me. And whom I would meet at least twice a week. But hey, I’m a really good listener, too.
I write a lot by hand. I always have a notebook with me, and I actually mean a book with empty pages to take notes in, not a laptop. And I would never want to give up my weekly planner, the non-digital paper version. I do appreciate all the fun pieces of technology that make life so much easier, it’s just that I need paper too. Crossing out an item on a to do list by hand just has that unique sound. Done. Accomplished. Ahh.
I work in marketing, which I’ve always considered a coincidence, but it recently dawned on me that my affinity for communication and creativity must have led me there. Plus, I don’t really believe in coincidences…
So, as you will have figured by now, I’m just a girl who you might want to meet for a nice cup of tea or to chat, share thoughts, problems, and ideas with.
See ya,
Maya
